OnePlus will host an event today in Bangalore. OnePlus founder and CEO Pete Lau along with Vikas Agarwal, General Manager, OnePlus India will be present at the event. OnePlus is expected to announce its next smartphone OnePlus X at the event.
Last week, Liu Zuohu of OnePlus posted an image showing the letter ‘X’ on his Weibo account. OnePlus India also tweeted a photo with an image of the letter ‘X’ and mentioned, “Time to look at things a little differently.” Both of these teasers are a hint towards the announcement of the OnePlus X phone today. Additonally, PhoneScoop reported pictures of a OnePlus device released by FCC. The smartphone in the picture has the OnePlus branding at the back along with the model number One E1005. As per the report, the smartphone has a chipset clocked at 1.9GHz.
Earlier rumours indicate that the next smartphone from OnePlus is expected to come with a 5.5-inch IPS display with either 2.5 Gorilla Glass 3 or 4. The phone is rumoured to run on MediaTek Helio X10 chipset along with 2GB of DDR3 RAM. It is expected to have 32GB built-in storage along with support for a microSD card. The phone is speculated to be powered by a 3,000-3,100mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0 support. It is also expected to come with front-facing speakers, NFC support, and a USB Type-C port. The AnTuTu benchmark score screenshot of the smartphone was also leaked earler in which the smartphone scored 54,311. The OnePlus X is expected to priced around $250 (approx. Rs. 16,000). If the price comes out to be around the speculated one, then it will be competing against smartphones like the Moto X Play and the Xiaomi Mi 4. The sale is a way of OnePlus team to make up for the delay in the shipment of the device. The announcement regarding the sale was first made by company via a blog post last month.
