The next OnePlus smartphone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. It will come with a notch on top of its display, which has been confirmed by the company, and the device will feature a compatibility mode for hiding the notch when it’s in landscape mode. After testing the feature with over 1000 top apps on the Play Store, OnePlus says that it works “flawlessly”. The handset will come with the 3.5mm audio jack and as per the company’s teasers, it could feature gestures similar to the iPhone X, allowing users to swipe up from the middle and hold for multitasking, swipe up from the left to go back a screen and more. It could also be IP67 or IP68 rated waterproof or splash-proof, which is a first for the brand.

CEO and Founder of OnePlus, Pete Lau, recently announced that the OnePlus 6 will come with a glass rear panel with five printed layers of Nanotech Coating, which is said to be a first in the smartphone industry. It still doesn’t confirm that the smartphone will feature wireless charging. Lau had earlier posted some official camera samples captured from the smartphone’s camera. The sample images showcased the device’s ability to capture bokeh and daylight shots, but no information could be obtained from the hardware as the meta-data from the images was removed.

Like last year, OnePlus has announced its collaboration with Marvel Studios, hinting that it could unveil an Avengers: Infinity War themed OnePlus 6 smartphone at the launch event. The company is also offering 6,000 free tickets for the upcoming Marvel movie and its customers in Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Kochi, Pune and Ahmedabad will be able to claim the movie tickets at 10 PM on April 26. It’s speculated that OnePlus could also launch the wireless version of its Bullets in-ear headphones alongside the OnePlus 6. The headphones were spotted on a Bluetooth certification website with BT31B as model number and are registered to OnePlus. The device is rumoured to features a vertically stacked dual-rear camera setup and launch running on OxygenOS, which is based on Android 8.1 Oreo. Some renders tipped at a special variant of the OnePlus 6 with a wooden finish on the rear panel.
