MWC 2026: Moto Razr Fold showcased, India launch soon
Motorola showcased its first book-style foldable, expected to launch in India soon.
It offers triple 50MP cameras, stylus support, and Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 performance.
The phone packs a big 6,000mAh battery with fast wired and wireless charging.
Motorola has showcased its first book-style foldable phone at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026. While the company has been making flip-style foldables, Moto Razr for a while now, this is its first attempt at a proper foldable device. The phone was first showcased at the CES 2026 in January and looks ready for a commercial launch. While Motorola has not officially revealed it, we hear that the phone will definitely be launched in India and probably very soon.
SurveyThe Moto Razr will directly rival Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold and Vivo’s X Fold which have been the go-to foldable devices for anyone in the market for that experience. I briefly got a chance to experience the Moto Razr Fold at the MWC 2026 and while the overall experience looks more or less the same, the hardware looks promising.

It has a very familiar design with a rugged back panel and its textured finish. The overall form factor and feel of the phone is also the same as most other foldable devices. It is 4.6mm thin when unfolded and 9.9mm thin when folded. It also weighs 244 grams which is more than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Vivo X Fold 5. However, the in-hand feel of the phone is good and it doesn’t feel that heavy.
The phone has a solid camera system, identical to the Motorola’s flagship Signature phone. This means you get three 50-megapixel cameras at the back with really good telephoto capabilities. I captured a few photos in slightly challenging light conditions and they came out well.
Bose is offering the speaker audio support and there is also stylus inputs unlike Samsung’s foldable. The phone is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset with 16GB RAM and up to 1TB storage. So while you can expect good performance, this is not the best chipset available in the market. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, which will launch later this year, is expected to get a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset which is more powerful and power efficient.
The impressive part about the Razr Fold is its 6,000mAh battery — not so common on foldable devices which is paired with 80W wired fast and 50W wireless charging support.

The phone was showcased in both Black and White colors. Overall, it looks good and will provide another promising option in the same form factor. It will be interesting to see ho Motorola prices it in India though.
