HDM Global is reportedly rolling out the Android Oreo update for the Nokia 6 smartphone. GSM Arena reports that the update is about 1659MB in size. Alongside Android Oreo, users will get a refreshed Settings UI, enhanced power savings and background activity manager. Further, the low-light imaging quality has also been improved.

To recall, the Nokia 6 was launched last year and was one of the first Nokia-branded Android devices to launch in India after the rights were procured by HMD Global. The phone offered a 5.5-inch Full HD display and is powered by a Snapdragon 430 SoC with 4GB of RAM. The phone offers a 16MP camera at the back, while at the front is an 8MP unit. The phone offers 64GB of internal storage and is equipped with a 3000mAh battery with support for fast charging.

The Oreo update is rolling out just a few weeks after HMD Global rolled out the same to the 2018 version of the Nokia 6. The update was rolled out just a week or so after the new phone was launched. The new phone offers a refreshed design with on-screen buttons replacing the capacitive buttons found on the 2017 model. The new phone sports a 5.5-inch IPS display with a Full HD resolution. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset and offers 4GB of RAM. The device is equipped with a 3000mAh battery and is available in 32GB and 64GB storage variants.

HMD is also scheduled to host an event at this year’s MWC where the company is expected to unveil a bunch of new smartphones including a new flagship smartphone. The company may also unveil upgraded variants of its legacy devices such as the N-Gage and the E72 smartphone.
