The rumoured OnePlus 5 smartphone is likely to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC

OnePlus is gearing for its next smartphone launch and new rumours suggest that the phone might feature a 3600mAh battery. The latest report comes from Kumamoto Technology via Weibo. The leak also suggests that the phone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, and may feature a dual camera setup at the back. Contrary to previous reports, the new rumours suggest that the phone may not have 8GB of RAM after all.

As per the leak, the upcoming device may feature 6GB RAM along with 128GB of inbuilt storage. The Weibo post also suggests that the phone may feature a 3600mAh battery with 25% improvement in charging time, which would be quite significant. The post is in line with other reports which state that the device may have a dual camera setup in a vertically aligned arrangement. Further, there is no confirmation the phone will have a 3.5mm headphone jack, but the fingerprint scanner may remain on the front.

Previous rumours suggested that the OnePlus 5 may boast of a 5.5-inch display with thinner bezels and may finally join the QHD bandwagon. However, there is no information regarding the type of display the phone might be using.

OnePlus’ CEO Pete Lau confirmed on his Weibo account that the new smartphone is in the works. However, details or the launch date of the upcoming device is not yet known.
