Good news for all those who are planning to buy the newly launched LG V30 flagship smartphone. If you stream TV shows and movies on Netflix, you will be able to watch some of this content in HDR. Apart from the LG V30, Netflix has also added the Sony Xperia XZ Premium to its list of devices offering HDR content.
Netflix updated the help section on its website to reflect the new additions. The streaming service also offers content in HD, Full HD and 4K, and the same is listed besides the supported titles on the platform. The LG G6 is still the only smartphone that supports Dolby Vision content on Netflix. In all, the LG G6, LG V30 and the Xperia XZ Premium are the only three devices to support HDR content on Netflix.
Both the LG V30 and Xperia XZ Premium house powerful displays. The LG V30 comes with a 6-inch OLED QuadHD+ FullVision display with a resolution of 2880x1440p and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The Xperia XZ Premium houses a 5.5 inch display that is capable of rendering 4K resolution and HDR colour.
To view content in HDR or Dolby Vision content on Netflix, one would need to subscribe to the 4 screen premium package priced at Rs 800 per month and have an internet connection with speeds upwards of 25Mbps.
