HIGHLIGHTS

The new colour variant will debut at CES 2018 and will be launched in South Korea first, followed by some markets in Europe and Asia.

LG has announced a new Raspberry Rose colour variant for its LG V30 smartphone, which will be launched at CES 2018. The smartphone was not launched in India, but its plus variant was launched in the country last month. The V30 was initially launched in four other colours – Aurora Black, Cloud Silver, Moroccan Blue and Lavender Violet.

LG says that the new Raspberry Rose colour is an “intense saturated version of red and its hue is quite unlike any previous smartphone colour offered by LG or its competitors.”  The smartphone will be initially available in Korea, followed by select markets in Europe and Asia. Except for the colour, the new LG V30 variant is exactly the same as the original V30 in terms of specifications, which was announced in August last year. The company recently launched the LG V30+ in India, which comes with upgraded internal storage.

The LG V30+ features a 6-inch QHD+ P-OLED FullVision display with 18:9 display aspect ratio and supports HDR10. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM coupled with 128GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 2TB using a microSD card. The device runs LG UX 6.0+ layered atop Android 7.1.2 Nougat, which can be upgraded to Android 8.0 Oreo.

The LG V30+ features a dual rear camera setup with one 16MP sensor with f/1.6 aperture lens and another 13MP sensor with a 120-degree wide-angle lens and an aperture of  f/1.9. The main camera comes with EIS and OIS and also supports both PDAF and LDAF. It comes with a 5MP front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture and a wide-angle lens.

The LG flagship smartphone is also equipped with a 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC by B&O PLAY and is capable of recording lossless audio. It packs a 3300mAh battery and supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 and Wireless charging as well. The device comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and is rated IP68 water and dust resistant.
