HIGHLIGHTS

If leaks are to be believed, a dual-SIM and Jelly Bean version of the Optimus L7 is in development, called the L7 II Dual.

Leaks on the Internet have revealed a dual-SIM version of the LG Optimus L7, a mid-range Android device that was launched last year. The new device is supposedly called the Optimus L7 II Dual.

The look of the smartphone too has seen a slight update from the LG Optimus L7. It now has a more curved design instead of the sharp-edged angular design that we have come to expect from LG.

In terms of specifications, a dual-core 1GHz processor powers the rumoured Optimus L7 Dual. There is no information available about the RAM, GPU or the SoC under the hood of the L7 II Dual however. The original L7 had a single-core 1GHz Qualcomm MSM7227A Snapdragon processor, Adreno 200 GPU and 512MB of RAM.

The LG Optimus L7 II Dual is expected to run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean skinned with along with LG’s QSlide, QuickMemo and QuickTranslator software. Other rumoured features include a 4.3-inch IPS LCD display, an 8MP rear camera capable of 720p HD video recording, and a 2460mAh battery that will supposedly deliver two days of battery life with average use. The device will be available in black and white.

The phone is expected to launch in Russia in the second half of February for 12,990 rubles (Rs. 23,000 approx.) but we won’t trust the direct currency conversion.

The Indian market is already flooded with quite a few good Android phones that boast of dual-SIM capabilities. We have the HTC Desire SV, Samsung Galaxy S Duos, LG Optimus L5 dual and the Lava Xolo A800 to name a few.
