Leaked benchmarks show Gionee Elife S8 running on Helio P10

Leaked benchmarks of an alleged Gionee Elife S8 surfaced on the web earlier today, suggesting that the new phone might be running on the Mediatek Helio P10 SoC. The Geekbench page lists the phone as GN9011. Gionee has already confirmed that it will launch a new phone at MWC this year. The last phone in the S-range, the Elife S7 was launched at MWC 2015 and was a very slim phone measuring 5.5mm thickness.

According to the leaked Geekbench benchmarks, the phone will have the Mediatek MT6755 SoC which is the Helio P10. This new MT6755 SoC houses an octa-core processor with all processor cores clocked at 1.95Ghz. The benchmark also reveal that the phone has 4GB of RAM and is running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The phone scores 851 points in the single core benchmark of Geekbench and in the multi-core benchmark it scores 3148 points.

Earlier today, Gionee also launched its S6 smartphone in India. The 6.9mm thin smartphone is available via Flipkart and is priced at Rs. 19,999. The phone sports a 5.5-inch display which has a resolution of 1280x720p. The phone is powered by a Mediatek MT6753 SoC. There is 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage on the phone. The phone does support microSD cards and can take upto 128GB of microSD cards. There is a 13MP rear camera on the phone which is coupled with a single LED flash and at the front, the phone has a 5MP front-facing camera. There is a 3150mAh battery which is sealed in as the phone features an all metal unibody. The phone also comes with a USB Type-C port and will offer support for 4G as well as 4G VoLTE (voice over LTE).

The Gionee S6 is running in Amigo 3.1 UI which is layered on top of Android Lollipop 5.1.1.  The UI supports features like – one click cache clearing, timed refreshed sync. The camera app of the Gionee S6 includes features like GIF maker, barcode scanner and burst mode.
