Lava's latest budget smartphone – Iris Alfa – features a 5-inch display, quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 2200 mAh battery.

Lava has introduced a new budget Android smartphone in India. Priced at Rs. 6550, the new Lava Iris Alfa runs Android KitKat 4.4 and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor along with 1GB of RAM.

The Lava Iris Alfa has a 5-inch IPS FWVGA  display. The smartphone sports 5.0 MP Auto-Focus rear camera with LED Flash and a VGA front camera.  It comes with 8 GB of internal storage that is expandable to 32 GB. For connectivity, the smartphone supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB and 3G/Edge connectivity. It is powered by a 2200 mAh battery.

The smartphones comes bundled with Truecaller phone number search app, Rs. 2000 worth free downloads offer on Hungama Music app, a multimedia app for entrainment & Adaptxt that supports 11 Indian local languages.

The Lava Iris Alfa will be competing against a range of budget Android smartphones under Rs. 10k such as the Android One phones, Moto E, Redmi 1S and Redmi 2.

Lava recently unveiled its first Windows phone Iris Win 1 for Rs. 4,999. The Iris Win 1 sports a 4-inch WVGA display and is powered by a quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC accompanied by 1GB of RAM. The phone runs on Windows Phone 8.1 OS and has a 5MP autofocus rear camera with LED Flash and a VGA front-facing camera.
