Huawei P9 series to be announced on April 9?
HIGHLIGHTS

Huawei may announce the P9, P9 Lite, P9 Max and P9 Enhanced on April 9; all phones to sport dual-camera setup.

Earlier this month, leaked images of the Huawei P9 surfaced on the web, giving us a first look at the phone. Earlier today, Evan Blass tweeted that Huawei might announce the phone on April 6. Blass has generally been a reliable source for industry leaks, and the launch date also matches with last year’s Huawei P8 launch. Rumours also suggest that Huawei might be launching four phones in total. The company is allegedly working on P9 Max, P9 Lite and an enhanced version of the P9.

Huawei's new P9 lineup is expected to be launched with new chipsets. The Huawei P9 is expected to be powered by a Kirin 950 SoC, while the P9 Max and P9 Enhanced version are expected to run on an alleged Kirin 955 SoC, and the smaller P9 Lite may run on Snapdragon 650. According to Phonearena, the P9 Max and P9 Enhanced version will feature 6.8-inch and a 6.2-inch displays, respectively. Both the devices are expected to house 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage. The Huawei P9 Lite might feature a 5-inch display, with 2GB of RAM and 16GB storage. All the devices are expected to have a dual-primary camera setup, and fingerprint scanners.

According to rumours, the Huawei P9 Lite may be priced $289 (Rs. 19,400 approx.), the P9 at $473 (Rs. 31,700 approx.), P9 Max at $627 (Rs. 42,000 approx.), and P9 enhanced version at $565 (Rs. 37,880 approx.).

Previous rumours suggested that the Huawei P9 will have a 5.2-inch, 1080p display, and will sport 3GB of RAM and 32GB of on-board storage. The device might house a 12MP rear camera, which is reportedly being co-developed with camera veterans Leica. The new devices are expected to run on EMUI along with Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
