Android Oreo was launched recently and some device manufacturers such as Nokia, Sony and Micromax have already announced a list of their devices which will be getting the update. Huawei is also adding its name to the Android 8.0 update list with the Huawei Honor 8 Pro and the Honor 6X.
According to an XDA member, Huawei, in a recent press conference, announced that two of their smartphones are getting the Android Oreo update by the end of this year. The Huawei Honor 8 Pro and Honor 6X are the devices receiving the Oreo update and while the Honor 8 Pro is expected to receive the update by December this year, the Honor 6X may receive the update by December or January next year.
The Huawei Honor 8 Pro was launched back in April 2017 at a price of Rs 29,999 and featured Android 7.0 Nougat. It sports a 5.7-Inch QHD display and is powered by a 2.4 GHz Octa-core Kirin 960 processor. It features 6GB RAM, a 4000mAh battery and a dual main camera setup. The Huawei Honor 6X was launched in January this year and started at a price of Rs 11,999. The smartphone featured Android 6.0 Marshmallow at launch and sports a 5.5-Inch FHD display. The Honor 6X is powered by a 2.1 GHz octa core Kirin 655 SoC and comes in two variants: 3GB with 32GB of internal storage and a 4GB with 64GB internal storage.
Huawei is all set to launch its latest smartphone, the Huawei Mate 10 in an event on October 16. The Mate 10 is rumoured to sport a 6-Inch QHD display which may be near bezel-less. The smartphone is expected to be powered by the company’s latest Kirin 970 SoC and is expected to be launched with Android Oreo.
