The Honor 9 Lite will be up for sale starting 12 AM on January 21 exclusively on Flipkart and the company’s website. The smartphone is priced starting at Rs 11,999, however, it will be available at Rs 10,999 as a launch offer. It’s not known till when the device will be discounted.

Honor has launched its latest Honor 9 Lite smartphone at an event today. It sports a 13MP + 2MP quad camera setup – two on the front and two on the back. The smartphone has an all-glass rear panel. The device is priced at Rs 10,999 for the 3GB RAM/ 32GB ROM variant, however, as a launch offer, the company is offering a Rs 1,000 discount on it. It will cost Rs 14,999 for the 4GB/ 64GB internal storage model.

The device is exclusive to Flipkart and Honor’s online store. Customers will be able to purchase the device in flash sales starting 12 AM and 12 PM on January 21. There will be subsequent flash sales of the device on January 22 and 23 at 12 PM.

The Honor 9 Lite will also be upgraded with features like Ride Mode and integration with Paytm with subsequent OTA updates. The company has touted AI capabilities of the smartphone saying that it can identify whether the subject is male or female and make adjustments to the images captured by its camera accordingly. As mentioned earlier, the smartphone sports an all-glass rear panel and with a 2.5D glass wrapped along both edges and will be available in Sapphire Blue, Glacier Grey and Midnight Black colour variants.

In terms of specifications, the Honor 9 Lite sports a 5.65-inch full-HD+ IPS display with a taller 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by the Kirin 659 chipset with an i5 co-processor which consumes low power and assists the main processor in performing complex calculations and operate in a low power “always sensing mode”. It is powered by a 3000mAh battery and runs on EMUI 8.0 on top of Android 8.0 Oreo. It is a dual-SIM device and features a rear placed fingerprint sensor.

The Honor 9 Lite features a 13MP + 2MP dual front and rear shooters, both of which support 1080p video recording. The main camera is supplemented with an LED flash and comes with PDAF support. In terms of connectivity, the device features GPS, A-GPS, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a Micro-USB port for charging and a 3.5mm audio jack as well.
