Amazon is offering a heavy discount of Rs 36,000 on the first generation Google Pixel XL. It can now be bought at a price of Rs 39,990, against its launch price of Rs 76,000. The offer is valid on the 128GB model of the device and is applicable to its Quite Black and Very Silver colour variants.
It should be noted that Flipkart has listed the newer Google Pixel 2 XL with some offers. The 64GB and 128GB variants of the Google Pixel 2 XL are priced at Rs 67,999 and Rs 76,999 respectively and buyers will also get up to Rs 18,000 off on exchange.
Coming to the specifications, the original Google Pixel XL features a 5.5-inch screen with a16:9 display aspect ratio and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor with 4GB RAM. It features a 12.3MP primary camera with EIS and comes with an 8MP front-facing camera. It runs on Android 7.1 Nougat and is upgradable to Android 8.0 Oreo. The smartphone is powered by a 3450mAH battery and comes with a rear placed fingerprint scanner.
The newer Google Pixel 2 XL sports 6-inch Quad HD+ P-OLED display with an 18:9 display ratio, however, there have been many issues with it. Since the launch, some users complained of noticing a blue shift and screen burn-in on the display which the company mitigated by rolling out an update that brought a new colour profile.
The Pixel 2 XL is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with 4GB RAM. It features a 12MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, Dual Pixel autofocus, optical and electronic image stabilisation. The smartphone's camera software uses additional data captured by the Dual Pixel technology to produce portrait shots. The device comes with an 8MP front camera that uses machine learning to capture portrait-mode selfies.
