Gionee S11 with quad cameras, Univisium display slated for January launch in India

As per a report by Techook, Gionee might soon be launching its S11 smartphone in India. The device was launched by the company during an event in China last month along with the S11s, M7 Plus, F6, F205 and Steel 3. The highlight of the Gionee S11 is its quad camera setup and a thin-bezel design. It was launched in China priced at CNY 1,799 (Rs 17,650 approx), but there is no information on an Indian price yet.

The Gionee S11 features curved edges and a glass unibody design similar to the HTC U11 (review). It sports a 5.99-inch display with 2160 x 1080p resolution and a taller display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Helio P23 processor. It comes with 4GB of RAM coupled with 64GB of storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a micro SD card.

As mentioned earlier, the Gionee S11 sports a dual front and rear camera setup, similar to the Honor 9i (review). The S11 features a 16MP + 5MP rear camera setup with an LED flash and comes with a 16MP + 8MP front-facing camera for selfies. It sports a rear placed fingerprint scanner and is powered by a 3410mAh battery. 

The dual SIM hybrid smartphone supports connectivity features like GPS, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, 3.5mm audio jack and a micro USB port for charging. The device runs on Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box with the company’s Amigo 5.0 OS layered on top.

Gionee recently launched its S10 Lite smartphone in India priced at Rs 15,999. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 427 platform and 4GB RAM coupled with 32GB of expandable storage. It features a 5.2-inch HD display and runs on Amigo 4.0 OS on top of Android 7.1 Nougat. The device sports a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and comes with a 16 MP fixed-focus selfie camera with selfie flash. It packs a 3,100mAh battery and fingerprint sensor.
