Gionee has launched the Marathon M5 at an event in Bengaluru. The device is priced at Rs. 17,999 and will be available exclusively on Flipkart. The Gionee Marathon M5 comes with a huge 6020mAh battery which Gionee claims is enough for a talktime of 65 hours and is capable of charging two other phones through reverse charging. The device also comes with a 5.5-inch HD AMOLED screen and is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6735 SoC with 3GB of RAM. The Marathon M5 has 32GB of onboard storage which can be expanded to 128GB via a microSD card. At the rear of the phone is a 13MP camera and at the front is a 5MP camera. The phone runs Gionee’s Amigo 3.1 layered over Android Lollipop v5.1 and has an IR blaster as well.
The Marathon M5 will compete with the Lenovo Vibe P1. The Vibe P1 comes with a 5000mAh battery and a 5.5-inch Full HD display. It is powered by a Snapdragon 615 processor with 2GB RAM. The phone has 32GB of onboard storage which is expandable to 128GB and has a fingerprint sensor as well. At the back is a 13MP camera with a 5MP front facing camera. The Lenovo Vibe P1 was launched at Rs. 15,999.
The Gionee Marathon M4 was launched in India at Rs. 15,499. The device has a 5000mAh battery which Gionee claims can offer 50 hours of talktime and 440 hours of standby time. The Marathon M4 has a 5-inch HD AMOLED display and is powered by a 1.2GHZ quad-core processor with 2GB RAM. it has 16GB of onboard storage that is expandable by up to 32GB. The phone has a 8MP camera at the back and a 5MP front camera.
