Benchmarks of Gionee W909 reveal it being powered by a Mediatek Helio P10 SoC, and sporting 4GB of RAM

A new, leaked benchmark suggests that Gionee might be making a new phone, powered by the new Mediatek MT6755M SoC. The new Gionee prototype, which bears only a product ID W909, is suggested to be a new phone in the upper-mid range segment. The said phone was spotted on the Geekbench synthetic benchmark platform. It scored 818 points on single-core performance, and 3103 points on multi-core performance.

If the information is true, Gionee W909 will be one of the first phones to offer the new Helio P10 SoC. The Helio P10 is the latest chipset from MediaTek, which isn't available on any smartphone at the moment. It is manufactured using the 28nm manufacturing process. It is an octa-core processor and uses ARM’s Cortex A53 chips, clocked at 1.81GHz. We are likely to see phones from various companies powered by the Helio P10 getting launched at MWC 2016. The leaked benchmark reveals that the Gionee G909 comes with 4GB of RAM, and is running on Android v5.1 Lollipop. Beyond that, there is not much information available about the phone. It is also possible that Gionee may only be testing a prototype, and nothing concrete would come out of this, yet.

Gionee has come out with really interesting phones, recently. The Gionee Marathon M5 is a fine example. The mid-ranged phone comes with a massive, 6020mAh battery, which can easily last for two days even with heavy use. It has a 5.5-inch display, with 1280x720p HD resolution. The phone is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6735 SoC. There is 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of on-board storage, which can be further extended by upto 128GB, via microSD cards. The phone brings a 13MP rear camera, and 5MP front-facing camera. The phone is available for Rs. 17,999. A few days back, the company also announced a smaller variant of the phone, the Marathon M5 Lite, which packs a 4000mAh battery, and is available for Rs. 12,990.
