There have been multiple reports that Apple might launch three new iPhones this year, all sporting the infamous notch. Adding to the rumour mill, analyst Amit Daryanani from RBC Capital Markets told MacRumors that the current gen iPhone X has met with “limited success” and hence Apple might change the pricing of the upcoming phones scheduled to launch this year. He said, that the base price of the 5.8-inch iPhone X might get a cut of about $100, which will bring the price down to $899. The much-rumoured 6.5-inch iPhone X Plus might be launched at a base price of $999. Previous rumours also suggest that there will be a third iPhone X with an LCD display, which might be priced at an even lower price of $799.

The iPhone X, which is still the best phone in our books, was likely a key player in Apple’s record-breaking revenue of $88.3 Billion last quarter. However, the phone might reportedly get discontinued instead of being sold at a reduced price this year. According to a previous report, this will be done in order to save the brand value the phone carries with features like “3D Depth Sensing and OLED display”. Also, if the prices are lowered, it may have a negative impact on the shipments of the new 6.1-inch LCD iPhone X in the second half of 2018.

Apple is likely to launch all three new iPhones later this year at their annual event. Meanwhile, Apple launched its new 9.7-inch iPad earlier today at an education-centric event. The new iPad extends support for Apple Pencil, with prices starting at Rs. 28,000. The new iPad will be available in India starting April. The 2018 iPad is be powered by the Apple A10 Fusion Chip, which also powers the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus smartphones. The tablet will be available with 32GB storage and variants of the device are further divided into Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + Cellular versions.
