After launching the iPhone 17 series and ultra-slim Air in global markets, Apple is reportedly preparing for next year’s hardware release. Many industry reports suggest that the company will finally release its first foldable smartphone next year. According to reports, it could be called the iPhone Fold and will be a book-style device with a creaseless screen, good camera, and impressive camera.

iPhone Fold launch timeline

As per the reports, Apple could introduce the foldable iPhone in 2026. Analysts see it as the company’s formal entry into the foldable smartphone segment, which could influence the entire market, much like the first iPhone. However, the exact date and month remain under the wraps.

iPhone Fold specifications (Expected)

The iPhone Fold is said to feature a 7.8-inch inner panel and a 5.5-inch outer screen, both with Apple’s ProMotion. Leaks also suggest that it can have a crease-free folding mechanism with a style hinge that keeps the device just 4.5–4.8mm thin. For durability, the phone may be made of titanium for the hinge and casing.

It may feature a 48MP dual camera setup and a separate selfie camera for folded and unfolded use. It may also get a Touch ID via a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.  

iPhone Fold price (Expected)

Apple has not officially confirmed any details but the reports suggest that the device could get a premium price tag. The initial leaks suggest that the device could be priced at around $2,000 (roughly Rs 1,76,000). If true, the device will make it the most expensive iPhone yet.
