Android M to be announced at Google I/O 2015

Android M to be announced at Google I/O 2015
HIGHLIGHTS

Google will announce Android M at its I/O conference 2015. The Google I/O conference will start on May 28.

As part of its annual tradition, Google appears all set to announce the next version of Android at its I/O conference. Earlier today, the Google I/O webpage went live and in the event schedule, Android M was mentioned under the Android for Work Update event to be held on May 28.
However, since then, Google has updated the webpage and the entire event has been removed from the event schedule. Google generally announces new versions of Android at its I/O conferences and talks about what is being updated in the ecosystem as well. Since Google is trying to integrate Android in every possible device, we can expect the upcoming version to focus on that idea further.

The upcoming Android version doesn't have a name till now. We believe Google will withhold the name for Android ‘M’ till September like they did last time with Android Lollipop. Android Lollipop, which is the current version of Android, was announced as Android L last year at Google I/O 2014. The version was later given the name Lollipop in September when Google announced its Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 devices.
No further information regarding the upcoming version of Android was announced or leaked. We will know more about Android and Google’s plans once the I/O conference starts on May 28.
