Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for Galaxy S III suspended in India
Samsung has suspended the OTA (Over The Air) Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S III. The Korean giant claims that the update contains bugs and was causing issues for the users that had already updated their devices.
Samsung has now stopped the update and it is no longer available. Samsung is looking into the issue and is working to fix it soon.
The 4.1 Jelly Bean update started rolling out to devices in India about two weeks ago Over The Air and was 290MB in size. The update brought with it updates to TouchWiz along with Jelly Bean and Google Now.
The Galaxy S III is Samsung’s quad-core flagship smartphone whose processor is clocked at 1.4GHz. It runs on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich and 1GB RAM. It has a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED 1280x 720 pixels Gorilla Glass 2 display and 16GB internal storage expandable up to 64GB via a MicroSD card slot. Users of the device also get free Dropbox storage of 50GB for 2 years. The rear of the device has an 8MP camera that can shoot video in 1080p and a front facing camera for video chat. A 2100mAh battery powers the smartphone.
