Computex 2011: Acer shows off its new 13-inch powerhouse, the TravelMate 8481 [video]

Acer showed off the upcoming TravelMate 8481 laptop over at Computex 2011, a laptop that sports a really thin bezel with which Acer has managed to squeeze in a 14.1-inch display (1,366×768) into a 13-inch form factor. Somehow, Acer’s even managed to retain a 1.3MP webcam in that space.

The deceptively diminutive Acer TravelMate 8481 housed some pretty decent specs, meant for professionals, with a choice of a Intel Core i7 processor, GeForce GT520M GPU, up to a 320GB HDD, USB3.0, HDMI out, fingerprint reader, and Bluetooth 3.0.

Somehow, Acer is also claiming the device can provide up to 13 hours of battery life. It weighs 1.6 kg. Perfect for those long-haul business trips? The Acer TravelMate 8481 is expected to be priced at around $999.
