Sony’s new OLED gaming monitor with 720Hz refresh rate

Now, there is no doubt that the new gaming monitor’s headline feature is its refresh rate. At its native QHD resolution, the monitor now goes up to 540Hz, which is a step up from the previous generation. But, when you drop the resolution to 720p, the monitor can push up to 720Hz in dual-mode, provided your system can handle it.

Coming to the panel, Sony is using a newer generation OLED screen here, built on LG’s latest WOLED technology. This promises to bring improvements in brightness, colour accuracy, and overall clarity. Response time has also been slightly improved, now rated at 0.02ms, which should help reduce motion blur in fast-paced titles.

Other improvements include reduction of motion blur and the addition of a brightness compensator to maintain visibility. With motion blur reduction enabled, the monitor supports up to 270Hz at QHD resolution. Sony has also upgraded the anti-glare layer, which should help reduce reflections in brightly lit environments, something that often affects tournament setups.

What it offers for competitive players

With that blazing fast refresh rate, competitive gamers are sure to pay attention to this new product. And Sony knows that since it has also added several features to cater to them. One of the most interesting additions is a dynamic crosshair that adjusts its colour depending on the background, making it easier to track targets in different in-game scenarios.

In addition to this, there is also a dedicated display mode that reduces the usable screen size from 27 inches to 24.5 inches with a 4:3 aspect ratio. This is useful for esports titles where some players prefer smaller display areas for better focus and visibility. The monitor also includes anti-VRR flicker support in this mode, which should improve visual stability.

The Sony Inzone M10S II is expected to launch later in 2026, with a price tag of USD 1,099 (Approx Rs 1,02,530). That said, there is no word on India pricing yet. We might find out more about it closer to the launch. Stay tuned and keep watching this space for more such updates.
