GTA 6 to release in May 2026: Date, India pricing, gameplay, characters and other details

Since Rockstar Games dropped the second trailer of Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) on YouTube, gamers around the world haven’t stopped talking about it. The surprise release of the second trailer in May caught everyone off guard, and the video instantly went viral. Fans shared clips across Instagram, X and other platforms, praising the game’s realistic visuals, high-speed chases, and new characters.

GTA 6 story and gameplay

GTA 6 will introduce two new main characters, Jason and Lucia. According to Rockstar, “Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.”

In addition to Jason and Lucia, the game will bring in several new characters. The confirmed list so far includes Boobie Ike, Brian Heder, Cal Hampton, Dre’Quan Priest, Raul Bautista, and Real Dimez.

GTA 6 will take players to “the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet,” according to Rockstar. 

GTA 6 release date and expected price in India

GTA 6 is officially set to release on May 26, 2026. In India, the standard edition of the game is expected to be priced at Rs 5,999, while special editions could cost around Rs 7,299 or even higher.

GTA 6 expected system requirements

Although the official PC requirements have not been shared yet, leaks suggest that GTA 6 will demand at least an Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X processor, a GTX 1080 Ti or Radeon RX 5700 XT graphics card, 8GB of RAM, and roughly 150GB of free storage.
