Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 story
Call of Duty has teased its next chapter, Black Ops 7, at the Xbox Games Showcase, promising to continue the gripping story. Developed by Treyarch and Raven Software, Black Ops 7 is set in the year 2035 and continues the story from where Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 6 left off. The protagonist of the game, David “Section” Mason, voiced by actor Milo Ventimiglia, known for his role in Gilmore Girls, will explore the offices of The Guild. The company claims to build technology for the good of society, but it is a criminal organisation with a much darker agenda. David learns that the company’s agenda is to put the world in a cage in the name of protecting it.
As Mason digs deeper, he encounters a glowing red butterfly that leads him into a strange, warped world. As he follows the butterfly, a hand emerges from the shadows and crushes the butterfly, revealing the return of Raul Menendez, the antagonist from Black Ops 2. For the unversed, Menendez is a former Nicaraguan drug lord known for planning attacks on the US government and other heads of state. “Fear is a powerful thing, David Mason,” he says.

Though the teaser doesn’t reveal Menendez’s exact plan, it hints that fear and psychological warfare will be the main themes in the game’s story. The teaser also shows that the world will be on the brink of chaos, where Mason and the Black Ops team will need to fight back using the new technologies.
