When Netflix released the live-action adaptation of One Piece in 2023, many fans were sceptical. After all, this was a beloved anime and manga with a massive global following. Any misstep could’ve caused a major backlash. But instead, the show turned out to be a huge success.

In just under two weeks, One Piece received over 37.8 million views. The series impressed longtime fans with its faithful recreation of the world Eiichiro Oda created, while also pulling in a whole new audience that had never watched the anime or read the manga.

With its mix of humour, emotion and action, Season 1 proved that a live-action One Piece could actually work and now fans can’t wait to see what happens next. From the expected release timeline to the new characters, here’s everything we know so far about One Piece Season 2.

One Piece Season 2 release timeline 

Netflix has not yet officially announced the release date of One Piece Season 2. However, word has it that the next chapter of One Piece will likely be released in late 2025.

One Piece Season 2 is expected to continue the Straw Hat Pirates’ journey across the Grand Line. Viewers can expect to visit several new islands and meet more characters.

Co-showrunner Matt Owens confirmed that Dr Kureha will play a big role in the second season of One Piece Season 2. The show will cover Loguetown, Reverse Mountain (Twin Capes), Whiskey Peak, Little Island, and Drum Island.
