YouTube Music, a popular music streaming platform, is now introducing a new feature that allows users to share specific timestamps for songs, mixes, and podcasts. The platform’s new feature aims to make it easier for users to share exact moments. For example, if you want to share a memorable part of the podcast with someone, this feature will be extremely useful.
SurveyUsers will have the option to do so by tapping the Share button while listening to a song or podcast on the platform. Following that, a new toggle labeled “Start at x:xx” will appear in the upper-right corner of the Share sheet. Once enabled, the feature automatically adds the “t=XX” timestamp to the link, directing the receiver to the exact moment you want to share. It will be an excellent way for users to share the most engaging parts of their songs or podcasts.

It’s worth noting that the timestamp-sharing feature is available to iOS and Android 14, 15 users. The feature is gradually being rolled out, and users are advised to keep the application updated. According to the report, the feature is being rolled out as a server-side switch for the YouTube Music app on the devices. Another thing users should know is how to manually enable the toggle to share the timestamp link.
The feature is already available on YouTube and will soon be available to all users of the YouTube Music app. The new feature is especially useful for long-form content, particularly podcasts, but users will have no trouble using it on all of the content available on YouTube Music.
Meanwhile, the Google-owned platform previously added new features including a new sleep timer, a resizable miniplayer, and the ability to fine-tune playback speed. The features are currently available on the web, YouTube application and YouTube Music.
