WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.23.1.11 is rolling out for specific beta testers. However, the beta version is currently under development and has yet to be made available for everyone.

The WhatsApp beta allows you to update the security of your account if you want to log into another device. The app will show you a 6-digit code on your main device when you send a request from the secondary device while logging into it. WhatsApp mentioned not to share the code with anyone because a WhatsApp account might hold someone’s privacy and in case you haven’t sent the login request but the app is showing the code, you can just ignore it.

How to enable two-step verification on WhatsApp for Android

Two-step verification is an optional feature which adds more security to your WhatsApp account. Users have to create and confirm a unique pin in order to enable this feature. This gives you another layer of security while logging into WhatsApp. This is not the same OTP feature which you receive via SMS or phone call.

Here is how to activate two-step verification on Android-

1. Open Whatsapp on Android

2. Tap three dots on the top right corner

3. Go to ‘Account’

4. Tap on ‘Two-step verification

5. Tap the green ‘Turn on’ button

6. Set the 6-digit pin.

7. Confirm the same pin

8. Enter your Email

9. Confirm your Email

10. Tap the green ‘Done’ button

That’s how Android users can activate two-factor authentication in WhatsApp. WhatsApp will require this 6-digit code whenever you set up the WhatsApp account on a new phone or the same phone.
