Microsoft Edge browser will support WhatsApp Web soon
HIGHLIGHTS

Microsoft's Edge browser doesn't support the Whatsapp Web. However, things are going to change soon.

Microsoft Edge Browser has been confirmed to support Whatsapp Web application soon. The news has been confirmed by Greg Witworth, Product Manager at Microsoft and David Storey, Product Manager at Micosoft Edge/Internet Explorer team. Both the executives tweeted replies to a user's tweet. Whatsapp Web is supported by almost all the other major browsers like Google Chrome, Safari, Mozilla Firefox, etc. except for the Internet Explorer and the newly launched Microsoft Edge browser. The browser was announced earlier, but launched with the global launch of Windows 10 on July 29, 2015.

It is definitely good news for all the Microsoft Edge users on Windows 10. However, there's no specific time frame regarding the release of Whatsapp Web support. The support for Whatsap Web will not only please existing users, but it might also attract more users, who rely on other browsers, to consider using Microsoft Edge. Microsoft had also announced, at the time when it released Edge, that it is better than Interent Explorer 11, Firefox Alpha, and Chrome Canary (a version of Chrome for developers, which includes its newest features) in the benchmarking tests. However, we do know that there's always a difference between the benchmarking test scores and the actual usage of products.

As for Whatsapp Web, it was announced by the WhatsApp earlier this year. It is a desktop web browser based service from WhatsApp, which lets you send and receive WhatsApp texts right from your PC. All you need to do is to scan the QR code available on https://web.whatsapp.com/ via the QR code scanner available with the updated WhatsApp app on Android or iOS. Although, you have to keep your device connected with Whatsapp for as long as you want to use the application on the web. If you end up disconnecting the device for any reason, then you will have to repeat the whole process from the beginning.

What are your thoughts on Microsoft Edge? Do you use it? If yes, are you excited about the Whatsapp Web support or it doesn't matter to you? Feel free to share all your views with me using the comments section.
