Google has announced that it will expand its AI-powered photo editing tools, such as Magic Editor, to all Google Photos users at no cost. These features were previously exclusive to Pixel phones and paid subscribers. Now, starting next month, everyone will be able to enjoy enhancing their photos with artificial intelligence, thanks to Google’s decision to make these tools available to a wider audience.

Last year, Google launched Magic Editor on Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. The Magic Editor uses generative AI and makes it easy to do complex photo edits with simple and intuitive actions, like repositioning your subject or turning the sky from grey to blue.

Now, the tech giant has announced that it is expanding access to Magic Editor to all Pixel devices.

Starting May 15th, 2024, Magic Editor will become available to all Google Photos users on Android and iOS.

But wait, there is a catch. Google Photos users who meet the minimum device requirements will be able to use Magic Editor on Android & iOS with 10 saves each month. After 10 saves, you’ll need to either upgrade to a Premium Google One plan 2 TB or above or be a Pixel user to continue saving edits made using Magic Editor.
