Amazon Kindle Cloud Reader service launched in India
Amazon launches the Kindle Cloud Reader that lets you buy books, read samples, or download free e-books from the Kindle Store.
Amazon has rolled out its cloud-based reading service, 'Cloud Reader' in India. The service is available for free and allows users to read all the books in Amazon's collection on their web browser, without any downloads. The service can be used on desktop browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer (version 10 and above) and Safari for iPad.
Kindle Cloud Reader automatically synchronizes users' Kindle library, the last read pages, notes, bookmarks and highlights for all of their Kindle books. The Cloud Reader always users to save books for offline reading and enables them to customize the page layout, including the text, font size, back ground color and much more. The service also lets users easily search inside books to find topics, characters or sections of their interest.
Other features like adding and editing notes and highlights are also available to users. Page turns are immediate on the Kindle Cloud Reader, without any distractions, and the controls at the top and bottom of the screen fade once you turn the pages letting you focus on reading. The Kindle Cloud Reader browser is updated automatically.
