Nothing smart glasses leak hints at two models, one with AI and a camera: Report

HIGHLIGHTS

Nothing may launch two smart glasses, including a camera-equipped model with AI features and an audio-only version.

Both models are tipped to feature photochromic lenses that darken in sunlight and become clearer indoors.

The glasses could compete with Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses, but Nothing has yet to confirm their launch date, pricing or specifications.

Nothing smart glasses leak hints at two models, one with AI and a camera: Report

After smartphones and accessories, Nothing is now preparing to enter the smart glasses market with two different products, a new leak suggests. The company is reportedly working on a camera equipped model with AI features and second pair focused on audio playback and calls. The update comes from tipster Roland Quandt, who shared details about the alleged devices on Bluesky. Nothing has not officially confirmed either product, and details such as their design, pricing, specifications and launch timeline remain unknown.

Is Nothing really working on smart glasses?

According to Quandt, the two pairs of glasses will target different use cases. The audio-focused model is expected to offer features similar to wireless headphones, allowing users to listen to music and audiobooks, take calls and interact with a voice assistant through built-in microphones and speakers.

The second model is reportedly being developed with a camera and additional AI capabilities. These can include ChatGPT integration and real-time translation, allowing users to access certain functions without taking out their smartphones. If these features materialise, the glasses can compete with camera-equipped smart eyewear such as Meta’s Ray-Ban Meta lineup.

Both models are also said to feature photochromic lenses. These lenses automatically darken when exposed to sunlight and become clearer indoors, potentially allowing users to wear the glasses in different lighting conditions without switching between regular glasses and sunglasses.

The leak does not reveal how the glasses will look or whether they will follow Nothing’s distinctive design language. The company is known for its transparent-inspired aesthetics and minimalist approach to product design, although it remains to be seen how these elements might translate to eyewear.

Nothing expands beyond smartphones

Smart glasses would add another category to Nothing’s growing product portfolio, which already includes smartphones, wireless earbuds and over-ear headphones. The company recently unveiled new Bluetooth speakers, while its first over-ear headphones, the Nothing Headphone (1), arrived in 2025.

Nothing is also reportedly developing a smartwatch under its main brand. Tipster Yogesh Brar previously suggested that the device can cost less than $300 (roughly Rs 29,000). A September launch was reportedly under consideration at the time, but Nothing has yet to officially announce the smartwatch or confirm its specifications.

The potential expansion comes as Nothing prepares to expand its smartphone portfolio. In an interview with Times Now, Nothing co-founder and India head Akis Evangelidis said the company plans to launch roughly twice as many smartphones in 2027 as it did in 2026. The company has introduced the Phone (4a), Phone (4a) Pro and Phone (4b) this year.

Evangelidis also said Nothing had established dedicated business units for audio and AI-native products to accelerate development. The reported smart glasses could fit into this strategy, giving the company another way to build connected experiences around its existing devices.

Nothing’s take on Meta in smart glasses

Meta has already established a presence in the category through its partnership with Ray-Ban. Its camera-equipped smart glasses combine photography, video recording, audio playback and AI features in a conventional eyewear design. Audio-only smart glasses offer a simpler alternative for people who want hands-free listening and calls without a camera.

Nothing’s reported two-model approach would allow it to target both groups rather than relying on a single product to serve different needs. If true, an audio-focused pair might appeal to users looking for an alternative to headphones, while a camera-equipped version would compete more directly with Meta’s AI-powered glasses.

But for now, both products remain unconfirmed, and more details will be needed to establish how they differ from existing smart glasses.
