HIGHLIGHTS

Here are the winners of the Digit Zero1 and Best Buy Awards for the Best OLED TVs of 2022

The Sony BRAVIA XR MASTER Series A95K (65-Inch) bagged the Digit Zero1 Award 2022 in this category amidst fierce competition

The Sony BRAVIA XR MASTER Series A95K (65-Inch) clinched the Digit Best Buy Award 2022 for offering the best price-to-performance ratio

Despite the emergence of newer technologies, OLED is still widely considered to be the pinnacle of display technology when it comes to TVs. Despite not being the best when it comes to peak brightness, there is no denying OLEDs enjoy a distinct advantage over panels with competing technologies, as they can output punchier colours and contrast ratios. While the Indian market is still not the most populated when it comes to options in the OLED segment, In 2022, we finally saw OLED TVs becoming more accessible than ever before, thus creating the need for separate Zero1 categories for OLED TVs. So let’s take a look at the best OLED TVs we tested this year.

Zero 1 Winner and Best Buy: Sony BRAVIA XR MASTER Series A95K (65-Inch) (Buy link)

The winner of this year’s Zero1 Best OLED TV award goes to none other than the Sony BRAVIA XR MASTER Series A95K. It is the company’s flagship 4K TV for 2022, offering better performance than its A90K OLED and the A80K OLED. The Sony A95K TV is the first consumer-grade TV from the company to use a QD-OLED panel – a type of OLED panel that brings benefits over traditional OLED panels. The technology behind the QD-OLED panel helps the Sony A95K achieve perfect blacks and accurately represent a wide range of colours. As we found in our testing, the QD-OLED panel-backed display can get very bright for an OLED TV, and its core self-emitting pixel tech used for the panel also ensures there are pretty much no blooming zones on the TV. Sony has also done a good job packing it with high-end features like HDMI 2.1 with variable refresh rate (VRR) support for gamers. Sony has also priced the TV aggressively by its standards in the country, making the BRAVIA XR MASTER Series A95K a good value-for-money option as well. So regardless of the fact that you’re a gamer, a casual movie watcher, or are looking to get a new TV to Binge watch HDR content at home, this TV could be a safe bet for you.

Runner-up: LG Signature OLED Z2 (Buy link)

The LG Signature OLED Z2 is an OLED TV that brings support for HDR and up to 8K resolutions. To power this resource-intensive resolution, the TV uses the latest Alpha9 Gen5 8K processor with AI 8K upscaling, AI Picture Pro, and AI Sound Pro technologies. These combined with the OLED panel of the TV output near-perfect blacks, and contrast ratios to blow your breath away. There’s also a 4.2-channel sound system with AI Acoustic Tuning and support for Dolby Atmos, which turns the TV into a home theatre set-up like no other competing TV. While the 88-inch TV we tested is a bit on the expensive side, LG’s made sure the TV looks like every Rupee being asked for it. Its design and build quality scream flagship, and match its performance, thereby helping it earn the runner-up title for this category.
