The Nubia Z11 Mini is the company's first mid-budget smartphone

Nubia has entered the Indian market with a bang. Earlier Nubia was a part of the ZTE corporation and now stands on its own. They have launched their first mid-budget phone – Nubia Z11 Mini for the Indian consumers.

Priced at Rs.12,999, Nubia Z11 mini packs a 16 MP primary camera with a Sony IMX298 sensor and an F2.0 aperture. With an impressive list of specifications, the 5-inch device with full HD display and slim bezels, aims to offer a tough competition for contemporary smartphones like Vivo V3 or Oppo F1 under the sub Rs. 15,000 category.

Nubia Z11 Mini’s 16 MP main camera supports the NeoVision 5.8 DSLR photography system for sharper and richer photos. It also sports LED flash and other impressive features along the lines of phase-detection, autofocus and 3D noise reduction. The handset also sports 8MP front camera, taking the delight for selfies a notch higher and it has never been easier.

In addition, the camera offers a number of interesting photography features. The first is DNG that allows users to record all the settings and data associated with a particular photo file. This not only includes the ISO and shutter speed but also the aperture, white balance and other key metrics.

The cloning function is another feature that makes the Z11 Mini stand apart from its peers. It essentially recognizes all the objects/subjects in a particular photograph, makes “copies” or clones them. The feature allows the user to insert the copies back into the original image.

It’s quite simple and straightforward, and with a bit of time and creativity, anyone would be able to clone their own image.

As a new entrant, Nubia is riding on core patented technologies such as separate light metering, separate focus and independent white balance. The company is the first to integrate the whole smartphone photography experience like photo shooting functions, including electronic aperture,
slow shutter and live bulb exposure.

Furthermore, the phone is also claimed to possess fool proof camera functions like “one-click star trail” and “light painting”.

When it comes to connectivity, the Z11 Mini covers all bases with support for dual SIM, 4G, connectivity, Wi-Fi with hotspot, Bluetooth, GPS and USB. There is also a microSD slot for storage expansion up to 200GB. It runs on Android 5.1 and is equipped with a 2800 mAh battery.

The Nubia Z11 Mini also comes with the company’s patented Frame Interactive Technology (FiT) that allows the user to interact with device by touching the frame. With two consecutive rapid clenches, users can either take a screenshot or activate one-handed mode. One simple clench directly unlocks the screen.

The phone has Light and Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Compass, Fingerprint ID and gyroscope. It also features 2.5D Arc Glass design, 64-bit Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM. Priced at Rs. 12,999, Nubia Z11 Mini aims to be a class-leading smartphone for photography enthusiasts, which could take the competition to camera phones from other manufacturers like OPPO & Motorola.
