Performance comparison: QiKU Q Terra vs competition

In 2015, QiKU’s Q Terra came out of nowhere and took over some of the best phones in the sub-25K price range. With a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset inside, the phone leaves every phone available around its price behind in performance. The rest of the spec sheet of the Q Terra comfortably puts it among the “flagship-class” smartphones, all of which come at a higher price tag. The SoC, which comes with its own liquid cooling mechanism, is aided by 3GB of RAM. The on-board storage is 16GB, and can be further expanded via a microSD card. The phone is compatible with upto 128GB of microSD cards. The 6-inch display is mesmerising from every angle, and at just 1.4mm, the Q Terra has one of the thinnest bezels ever offered on a smartphone. It offers 1920 x 1080p resolution, which makes everything look crisp. The Q Terra comes with not one but two rear cameras, both with resolutions of 13MP. The primary one uses Sony’s IMX278 sensor, and the second one uses the Sony IMX214 sensor. The camera can shoot at f/1.8 aperture. While the primary sensor captures colour detail, the other one captures the same photograph in black and white, adding depth, contrast and details to the captured image. For selfie-lovers, there is an 8MP shooter at the front, and the supporting camera app comes with beautification features as well. Powering this pinnacle of hardware is a large, 3700mAh battery that offers standby time of almost 600 hours. The phone also supports quick charging, and charging it for just 5 minutes gives the QiKU Q Terra enough power to last for 2 hours.

The QiKU Q Terra comes with its custom 360 OS, which offers very useful features such as Permission Control that allows you to control app behaviours. The 360 OS can also find out which app is taking higher processing resources and causing throttling, thereby allowing you to shut it down. It even lets you uninstall pre-loaded apps, giving you total control over apps that you would want to keep in the phone. Another vital feature of the phone is its fingerprint sensor, which is fast and accurate. The QiKU Q Terra also offers one of the best all-metal unibody designs. The Magnesium + Aluminium alloy makes it strong and light at the same time. Let’s not get carried away with the design though, and get back to the performance of the phone.
