More the Merrier: Here’s a Closer Look at the Camera Features of the new vivo V17Pro Smartphone

It looks like vivo is dead serious about offering its customers a quality camera phone. The company recently unveiled the vivo V17Pro smartphone and the device packs a total of six cameras. There are two cameras on the front and four at the back So, what can the vivo V17Pro do with so many cameras? Well, let’s take a look.

Double the cameras

Pop-Up front cameras are quite a popular choice among smartphone manufacturers as they are a way to offer a high screen-to-body ratio, without resorting to a notch. While most manufacturers are fine with placing a single camera in the pop-up module, the vivo V17Pro manages to pack a Dual Pop-Up Selfie Camera in a 32MP + 8MP configuration.

Super Night Selfie

Taking pictures at night can be quite tricky. However, it looks like that won’t be a problem with the vivo V17Pro. The phone’s Super Night Selfie feature is said to smartly combine multiple frames to optimise the brightness of a picture. Just what you need in low-light conditions. The front-facing ‘Moonlight Glow’ flash should also help brighten up proceedings.

Super Wide-Angle Selfie

When taking selfies, The size of the frame is usually limited by the length of your arms. As such, taking group selfies requires the entire group to squeeze in together. However, the Super Wide-Angle feature lets you make use of a 105° wide field of view. So you and your friends do not have to squeeze in together. The feature is also handy when you want to take landscape selfies where you would want more of the background.

A gang of four

As mentioned before, the vivo V17Pro packs four cameras at the back. These are vertically stacked, and offer a 48MP+13MP+8MP+2MP configuration. The 48MP unit offers flexibility and can be used in a multitude of situations, while the 8MP unit offers a Super Wide-Angle lens. The 13MP unit features a Super Macro lens and offers a 2x optical zoom and 10x digital zoom.  The 2MP unit is used for depth sensing, which helps to take bokeh shots.

AI Super Night Mode

The vivo V17Pro also comes with an AI Super Night Mode that aims to improve the low-light capability of the rear camera. As per vivo, the phone uses a composite multi-frame noise reduction technology to reduce noise levels, leading to a clearer picture.

AI Super Wide

When you want to capture more in a frame, but don’t have the room to back up, then a Super Wide-Angle lens might be just what you need. The Super Wide Angle lens on the vivo V17Pro features a 120° wide-angle lens, which is 108° after accounting for distortion.

Super Macro

When you want to zoom in to the tiny little subjects, the vivo V17Pro lets you use the Super Macro mode to get up close to objects and focus on the tiny details. With this mode on, the phone is able to focus from 2.5cm.

Optical zoom

There are times when you want to get closer to your subject, but you may not be able to. With the 2x optical telephoto lens on the vivo V17Pro, you will be able to take zoomed-in pictures, without the need to actually get closer to your subject.

As one can see, the vivo V17Pro packs a whole host of camera features that should interest anyone who likes taking pictures from their phone. Of course, that is not all that the phone has to offer. vivo V17Pro has a 6.44-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 20:9. The front is protected by Schott Xensation UP glass, while the rear is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 6. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675AIE Octa-core SoC with 8GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage. It also packs a 4100mAh battery with support for fast charging.

As one can see, the vivo V17Pro packs a whole host of features, especially in the camera department. As such, it makes a strong case for itself to anyone looking for a feature-packed phone for less than Rs 30,000.
