Whether we are watching sports events live or laughing out loud with your favourite characters in TV shows, the smartphone has undoubtedly become the go-to screen for many to consume content of their choice. Now, once you add a layer of mobility and Internet connectivity to it, what we get is a product that provides a heady mix of on-the-move entertainment consumption. With this in mind, Motorola has launched the E5 Plus — a phone touted to be big on entertainment, anywhere, anytime. Let’s take a quick look at the features that help this brand new phone, up its entertainment quotient.

A Big Screen

There’s a reason why people love to watch movies and playing games on a big screen. Not only are you able to make out details when watching videos, but you also cover less of the screen with your thumbs while gaming. Offering a big display on compact and portable smartphone always comes with its fair share of challenges. However, with the Moto E5 Plus, you get a massive 6-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels, neatly and tightly packed into a pretty ergonomic 18:9 display aspect ratio. In fact, the phone has a width of 75.3mm, which is even narrower than its predecessor, which has a smaller screen, but a width of 77.5mm. The Moto E5 Plus is also thinner at 9.35mm. What does this mean? The E5 Plus lets you enjoy all the benefits of a bigger screen, while still making it pretty easy to hold.

A Big Battery

Offering a big display is only the 1st step of the entertainment package. If the battery doesn’t last for long periods, you cannot use the smartphone for anything, let alone for watching movies and playing games. The E5 Plus sports a large 5000mAh battery, which the company claims is enough for 200 plus hours of non-stop music playback or 18 hours of video playback, without worrying about the phone suddenly dying on you. Furthermore, the Moto E5 Plus also comes with the company’s RapidCharging , which is just the thing you want when you are in a bit of a pinch and need to top your phone up quickly. Moto says that with the RapidCharger, users can expect up hours of battery life with a few mins of charging.

Plenty of Space

Another key to offering comprehensive entertainment is storage space. Movie buffs and especially gamers would want as much storage space as possible so that they can download as many different games or movies as possible to keep themselves entertained when they are traveling or commuting. For this, the E5 Plus offers 32GB of space, which should be enough for most use cases. However, in case you want even more space, you also have the option of expanding storage by up to 128GB via a dedicated microSD slot.

A Looker

The Moto E5 Plus offers a glossy finish, but there is more to the design than just pretty looks. The phone features rounded corners, which make the phone comfortable to hold.. This is important as you might end up holding your phone for hours as you binge-watch your favourite shows. The Moto E5 Plus also features a reflective wave pattern at the back, which shines under light. Further, it borrows the iconic watch dial camera bezel from the company’s X-series, which adds premium appeal to the phone.

Moto Display

The Moto E5 Plus, buyers also get to experience the Moto Display. The feature has been a staple of other smartphones by the company and it has finally made its way to the E-series. With Moto Display, you no longer have to unlock the phone to get notified. The device will know when you are reaching out for your smartphone and show you basic information such as time and any notifications that you might have got. Moto Display is also engineered to use as little battery as possible, so you don’t have to worry about it having an impact on your battery life.

Quick Shot

The Moto E5 Plus sports a 12MP rear camera that features laser autofocus technology. This helps it focus on subjects faster, so you can quickly capture those moments. The sensor also features large 1.25μm pixels, that let in more light. This helps click better pictures in low light conditions. At the front is an 8mp unit that comes with a dedicated flash. This means that you’ll always be able to take brightly lit selfies, regardless of the lighting conditions.
