Meta seems to have spoiled one of its biggest announcements just before its Connect event. An unlisted video briefly posted online revealed new Ray-Ban branded smart glasses that include a built-in display, as well as a new pair of Oakley smart glasses with a camera. The video has now been taken down.

The clip revealed that the Ray-Ban model will feature a small display built into the right lens, according to UploadVR. Branding seen in the video used the phrase “Meta | Ray-Ban” and “Display,” suggesting the product could be called the Meta Ray-Ban Display.
The short demo showed how the glasses can be used in daily life: asking Meta AI questions, checking a map directly on the lens to get directions, translating text on signs, and even writing a reply to a message using hand gestures. To make those gestures possible, the glasses will be paired with a special wristband.
The video also briefly showed another product: a pair of Oakley-style wraparound glasses called Sphaera. These appear to have a camera mounted on the nose bridge, though it’s unclear what other features they might include.
This leak could take away some of the surprise from Meta’s big event this week. CEO Mark Zuckerberg is set to host the company’s annual Connect keynote at 5 PM PST on September 17 (5:30 AM IST on September 18). With this accidental reveal, it seems almost certain that these smart glasses will be a highlight of the show.
Meta has been pushing deeper into wearable devices as it tries to connect its AI and augmented reality efforts to everyday products. If these new glasses work as promised, they could be a major step toward making smart eyewear practical.
