OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has teased Kevlar finish on the back of OnePlus TV.

OnePlus TV will run a custom version of Android TV.

The TV will feature a custom Gamma Color Magic processor.

As the OnePlus TV is nearing its launch date, we are getting new details about the device from the CEO himself. Earlier, the Amazon page for the TV went live, revealing key information. The listing revealed that the TV will feature a 55-inch 4K QLED display with support for Dolby Vision. The OnePlus TV will have 8 speakers with 50W output, powered by Dolby Atmos sound. Now, Pete Lau has shared an image teasing the back finish of the device.

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau took to Twitter to tease the Kevlar finish on the back of the OnePlus TV. The image further reveals a unique stand design, which is unlike other TVs available in the market today. The stand is said to have a swivel mechanism and appears to hold the TV from the top. Hence, the OnePlus TV is likely to have the ports and connections at the bottom.

Lau has also revealed that the OnePlus TV will run Android TV. It will also receive software updates for at least three years. Hence, the TV will offer features like access to Google Assistant and the Play Store. Further, Lau said in a post that the goal is to offer the same fast and smooth experience of OnePlus phones for the OnePlus TV and the only way to achieve that was by adopting Android TV. However, it is expected to ship with a modified version of Android TV OS.

Rumours have it that the OnePlus TV would be announced in four different sizes: 43-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch size variants. The TV will feature a custom Gamma Color Magic processor. Recently, Lau also shared an image of the OnePlus TV remote that seems to be fairly slim. The remote has five distinct buttons on the top. The remote is likely to pair with the OnePlus TV via Bluetooth and previously, a Bluetooth remote was certified by the Bluetooth SIG.
