This significant funding round positions Anthropic, the creator of the Claude chatbot, among the most valuable startups globally as it approaches a potential Wall Street debut.

The funding round was spearheaded by notable investment firms, including Altimeter Capital, Dragoneer Investment Group, Greenoaks Capital, and Sequoia Capital. Anthropic’s Chief Financial Officer, Krishna Rao, stated that this funding will enable the company to meet the historic demand for its services and enhance its research capabilities.
Launch of New AI Model
On the same day, Anthropic introduced its latest AI model, Claude Opus 4.8, which the company claims is superior in coding and professional tasks compared to earlier iterations.
