Zauba’s import listing in India shows two smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, imported to India for non-commercial purposes, revealing the screen sizes of the devices

The Samsung Galaxy S7 lineup is nearing launch, with performance scores, rendered body images and other relevant details leaking regularly. Now, a Zauba listing showing the import of two Samsung devices in India shows the screen sizes of the devices. Zauba maintains a database of equipment imported and exported to and from India, and its data states that while the Samsung Galaxy S7 will sport a 5.1-inch display, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge will house a 5.5-inch display. Both the displays are expected to come with QHD resolution of 1440×2560 pixels.\

While Zauba’s listings do show an import price, the models imported are only sample devices. The listed price of Rs. 23,844 is only the sample model, and the Galaxy S7 lineup is expected to be priced near the Rs. 50,000 mark. In 2015, Samsung released the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6  Edge Plus and S6 Active, all flagship Android smartphones that saw widespread success. The Galaxy S6 lineup gave the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus a run for their money, and Samsung will hope to recreate the same success with the Galaxy S7 lineup, too.

As of now, rumours around the Samsung Galaxy S7 have been plenty. It is widely believed that the Samsung Galaxy S7 will come in two variants. While one will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset, the other will be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 8890. Previously-leaked Geekbench single-core scores indicated that Samsung has closed in on Apple’s A9 chipset in terms of single-core performance, and even performs marginally better than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, which is expected to power a large share of the flagship devices that will be launched in 2016. The Samsung Galaxy S7 is also expected to include 3D Touch technology, similar to iPhone 6s.

It was also previously expected that the Samsung Galaxy S7 may become the first smartphone to run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, but LeEco reached the summit first, with its LeEco Le Max Pro. The Xiaomi Mi 5 has also been confirmed to be launched with Snapdragon 820 inside. Apart from the 5.1-inch QHD display and the Snapdragon 820/Exynos 8890 variants, the Samsung Galaxy S7 is expected to come with 4GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB of storage, 12-megapixel rear camera with f/1.7 aperture lens with Samsung’s BRITECELL sensor inside, and run on Android Marshmallow.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 has a lot resting on its shoulders, after raising expectations with the Galaxy S6 lineup. To rival the iPhone 6s, Samsung may also present a 128GB variant of the Galaxy S7. The smartphone is expected to be unveiled at Mobile World Congress, 2016, scheduled to begin on February 22, and all Galaxy S7 variants are expected to be launched together.
