Xiaomi has finally unveiled the Mi Mix 2S smartphone at an event in Shanghai today. As numerous leaks and rumours suggested, the Mi Mix 2S features a thin-bezel display and comes with a vertically stacked dual camera setup. It doesn’t feature the front facing camera within a notch, as it was previously speculated, but it is placed at the bottom right corner, same as its predecessor. The smartphone's rear panel is made of ceramic, which allows for wireless charging and it will be available in White and Black colour variants.

In terms of specifications, the Mi Mix 2S is powered by a 2.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 platform with an Adreno 630 GPU. The smartphone is equipped with a dual-rear camera setup with a 12MP wide angle and a 12MP telephoto lens. It is equipped with a 1.4 micron pixel Sony IMX363 sensor and features dual pixel autofocus (dual PADF). Xiaomi says that it has implemented hardware level noise reduction for better shots on the Mi Mix 2S. The company also touted a photo score of 101 on DxOMark, higher than the Google Pixel 2 and the second highest after the Samsung Galaxy S9. It is backed by a 3400mAh battery and runs on MIUI 9, which is based up on Android Oreo.

Xiaomi launched the Mi Mix 2S in three variants and has priced its 6GB RAM and 64GB version at 3299 RMB (Rs 34,200 approx), whereas its 6GB RAM/128GB ROM model costs 3599 RMB (Rs 38,000 approx). There is also an 8GB RAM version with a 256 storage option, which is priced at 3999 RMB (Rs 41,00 approx) in China.

The Mi Mix 2S sports even thinner bezels than its predecessor and is made using series 7000 Aluminium. As mentioned above, the device supports Qi wireless charging with 7.5W quick charging support, which the company says can fully charge the smartphone under three hours. Xiaomi also launched a wireless charger which also supports iPhone X charging and is priced it at 99 RMB (Rs 1,025 approx).

Further, Xiaomi demoed some ‘powerful’ AI features, which the smartphone will come with. Using “Dynamic” Bokeh shots, one can add an artificial background to an image and save it as a GIF or an image. There is also AI scene detection, instant language and currency translation using the camera, and more. The device will also come with a smart assistant called ‘XiaoAI’ using which users can use voice command to set an alarm, capture photos, control other Mi devices and more. As a previous report tipped, the smartphone does come with ARCore support
