There’s no doubt that the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is coming after CEO Lei Jun posted a photo of the phone’s retail box on Weibo earlier this month. Now, in a pair of leaked hands-on videos of the phone, more details about its design and hardware have been revealed.

The videos reportedly originated on Weibo and the actual phone could only be seen for a few seconds. It was enough to hint at the basic design of the giant phone. It will have a vertically aligned dual camera and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. There is a sticker on the phone’s body in the video that suggests that screen size will be a whopping 6.9-inch while at the back there will be a 12MP+5MP dual camera unit. The biggest upgrade is the battery. The Mi Max 3 will reportedly have a 5,500mAh battery which would make it the highest capacity battery seen on a Mi Max series phone. The Mi Max 2 had a 5,300mAh battery while the original Mi Max had a 4,850mAh battery.

The phone seen in the videos is not the same as the one that was leaked earlier though. The hardware reported does seem to match. The one seen in the video is the same as the one spotted on a recent TENAA listing although the listing specified the battery to be of 5,400mAh capacity.

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun said the phone will launch in July and only then will all the rumours and leaks get confirmed.

The Mi Max series have made a name for itself for being a power user’s phone for large handed people. It’s gigantic screen real estate have carved a niche for itself and over the years, the hardware underneath have evolved to make the Mi Max series rival the Redmi Note series in terms of performance with even more battery life.
