Xiaomi launches pickup and drop service PickMi in India

Xiaomi has launched its doorstep pickup and drop service – PickMi in India. The service is priced at Rs. 189 including all the taxes and is available for all Xiaomi products. A user simply needs to call the toll free number, 1800103626 to avail the service. A Xiaomi representative will be at the customers doorstep to pick up the product to adress the issue. He will also drop the product once the issue gets resolved.

Earlier this year, Xiaomi teamed up with a Delhi-based startup GadgetWood to provide one-day repair and support services for its products. The partnership was announced after the completion of a pilot project which ran for two and a half months in Delhi-NCR. As per reports, more than 500 users used the service during the project. Xiaomi is not the only brand to announce a doorstep pickup and drop service. Earlier, Motorola announced an after-sales project called Moto Xpress. The project costs Rs. 199 and is available in Gurgaon, Delhi, and Noida. To avail the service, users need to call the Moto Xpress Service Booking Number – 011-4171724. Motorola has said that the software issues will be resolved on the spot while the hardware related issue would take up to 5 business days depending upon the problem. Additionally, another Chinese smartphone maker Meizu also announced last month that it will offer a doorstep pick and drop services to its customers in India. The service can be availed by calling on 180030709925, sending email at csindia@meizu.com, or via its Whatsapp numbers 9958547110 and 9958534889.

It is well known that Xiaomi considers India as one of its crucial market. The company has reportedly partnered with Redington for selling its products offline in more than 15 Indian cities. Xiaomi has also collaborated with Amazon and Snapdeal to make its products available to a larger customer base. Recently, Lei Jun, Xiaomi's CEO said that the company is aiming to be one of the top three smartphone brands or even number one in India within next three years. He also said that Xiaomi wants to sell to 10% to 20% of India and other big countries’ population.
