The upcoming OnePlus 6 will not only come with a refined design and a notched display, the cameras at the back of the phone are also going to produce some stunning shots, if this month’s Vogue India’s cover photo is to be believed. The magazine has stated on social media that its cover photo starring Bollywood actor Aditi Rao Hyadri has been shot on the OnePlus 6. Earlier, OnePlus co-founder and CEO Pete Lau had  shared a stream of images he claimed to have shot on the upcoming ‘flagship killer.’

Beauty magazine Vogue India shared the cover photo of its latest edition on Twitter and Instagram with the #ShotonOnePlus6 hashtag which was also shared by OnePlus employees. The photo was taken by Greek portrait photographer Errikos Andreou.

“For the cover shot, we opted for naturally lit photos, using bouncers to manipulate the light. The OnePlus 6 offers a ‘pro’ option of shooting in ‘raw’ which is a photo file with added information that allows you to modify images once they are captured and alter aspects like light, warmth, brightness, contrast, colour, etc; much like the file of a professional camera,” Vogue India state in a press release.

Having said that, this is not the first time a smartphone was used by a reputed artist to promote the imaging prowess of the phone. The music video for John Legend’s ‘A Good Night’ was shot with the Google Pixel 2 while actor Emily Ratajkowski uploaded portrait shots using the OnePlus 5 last year.

The statement further added, “As professionals, we are used to having chunky heavy cameras to shoot for assignments. So, the biggest advantage of shooting with a smartphone is the convenient size of the device and the resulting ease of portability. Also, the phone monitor with its large resolution is a great guide for image taking. You are looking at the photo before you even take it.”

OnePlus continues to build the hype up before the launch of the much anticipated OnePlus 6. The company has shared invites for an international launch event in London on May 16 with the chance for 12 fans to attend the event. While, in India, the phone is set to be launched on May 17th at an event in Mumbai. The phone has been teased multiple times with the company co-founders taking turns to open up about the journey to make the OnePlus 6.

Having a internationally acclaimed photographer shoot a cover photo for a popular fashion magazine using the OnePlus 6 will surely bolster the company’s image as a phone-maker that also makes great cameras that are used by professionals for their work.

While it is so far confirmed that the phone will rock a notched display with a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio and feature a glass back and a dual camera stack, nothing much is known about the hardware specifications of the camera. It’s confirmed that the phone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 coupled with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. We will have more details soon as the launch date inches closer.
