Samsung rolling out One UI 8 update for Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy M36 and more: Here’s how to download

Samsung has started rolling out the Android 16-based One UI 8 stable update to four more devices- the Galaxy Z Fold4, Galaxy Z Flip4, Galaxy M36, and Galaxy F36. The update for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 is accompanied by firmware versions F936BXXUAIYIF and F721BXXUAIYIF, respectively. It includes the October 2025 Android security patch and weighs over 3GB.

Additionally, users of the Galaxy M36 and Galaxy F36 in India are receiving the update with the September 2025 security patch, which is accompanied by firmware versions M366BXXUZBYI3 and E366BXXU2BYI4, respectively. Both updates are around 2.3GB in size. Notably, the update is currently available across Asia, Africa, and Europe.

Here’s how you can install it. 

How to install the One UI 8.0 update

Once the update is available for your device, you’ll get a notification to download it. To install manually, head to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install. After the download completes, tap Install now, and your phone will restart automatically.

If you haven’t received the notification yet, you can check manually by visiting Settings > Software Update > Check for updates. Since this is a phased rollout, it may take a few days for all users to get it.

One UI 8.0 update: New features and changelog

One UI 8.0 brings several useful upgrades, including an improved Secure Folder, offering stronger data protection. Further, apps like Calendar, Reminders, and Alarm have also been upgraded with smarter management tools.

The update also brings a new look to Quick Share, Samsung Internet, and My Files, making the interface cleaner and easier to navigate. Modes and Routines now support new conditions and automation actions.

Samsung’s DeX mode has also received a boost, now built on Android 16’s Desktop Mode. It will offer smoother multitasking and new display rotation options when connecting their phone to a monitor.
