Samsung Galaxy Note II pre-orders begin in India

The Samsung Galaxy Note II (GT-N7100) is available for pre-order on the Samsung India online store. There is no final MSRP price with the device but those interested will have to pay a non-refundable advance of Rs. 5,000.

The Samsung India’s online store says that those that will pre-order the Galaxy Note II will get a free desktop dock worth Rs. 2,399. The site goes on to say, “An electronic coupon will be issued against the advance payment made by you for pre-book of Galaxy Note II. In order to adjust the advance payment in the final price, you need to use this coupon code at the time of buying your Galaxy Note II from estore.”

Once the Galaxy Note II is available in India, the customers that have pre-booked it will receive an email notifying them about the availability of the device.

We were also just invited to a Samsung event in Hyderabad on September 28, where the company will apparently “launch a new flagship mobility device,” which we assume, is the Galaxy Note II.

The Galaxy Note II is a successor to the first generation phablet (smartphone-tablet hybrid) and is expected to launch towards the end of the year.

Recently, we reported that the Samsung Galaxy Note II was up for pre order on Infibeam.com and the price listed was Rs. 38,500. You can read that detailed story here.

The Galaxy Note II boasts of a 5.5-inch display and is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core processor. The device runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and boasts of a whopping 2GB of RAM just like the Galaxy Note 10.1. The Note II also has an 8MP rear facing camera and a 1.9MP front facing camera. The device comes with three storage options – 16 / 32 / 64GB.

The Galaxy Note II is quite slim measuring a mere 9.4mm in thickness and is relatively light for its size, weighing a mere 180 grams. The resolution of the 5.5-inch display is 1280×720 rather than the expected 1280×800 – a 16:9 aspect ratio. The device houses a 3,100mAh battery. You can take a look at our comparison of the Galaxy Note II versus its predecessor here.
