Flipkart has hosted a dedicated microsite for the upcoming Realme 2 smartphone and has revealed some of its specifications.

Once an Oppo sub-brand, Realme is now its own separate entity that is aiming to launch its second smartphone in India. The company will unveil the Realme 2 smartphone on August 28, which will be a Flipkart exclusive. We already know that the upcoming device will feature a notched display and previous reports suggest a dual-rear camera setup on the device. Now, Flipkart has confirmed these features in a micro-site dedicated for the device. The webpage also reveals that Realme 2 will feature a 6.2-inch display and will be powered by a massive 4,230mAh battery.

No other specifications of the smartphone have been revealed. However, images the Realme 2 were accidentally made live on the company’s website and they suggest that the device might come with a fingerprint sensor on the rear. The authentication mechanism was missing from its predecessor, the Realme 1. Realme 2 is also tipped to feature the same faceted design that was used on its predecessor and the OPPO F7 Diamond Black edition. The images revealed black and blue colour variants of the device. As mentioned earlier, not much is known about the smartphone’s hardware. Rumours suggest that it could offer configuration similar to the Oppo F7 and come equipped with a 6.23-inch Full HD+ display. It might be powered by a MediaTek Helio P60 SoC and is tipped to feature a 16MP + 2MP camera setup on the rear.

Last month, former VP of Oppo and Head of Oppo India, Sky Li, had announced his resignation from the company as he took up the position of Global CEO at Realme. Li said that the Realme brand will focus on providing youth-oriented mobile phones that offer strong performance and stylish designs. Additionally, the company said that it’s very young in terms of team composition as the average age of team members is not more than 30 years.

The company’s first device was Realme 1 (review). The smartphone was launched in 3/32 GB, 4/64GB and 6/128 GB variants, which are priced at Rs 8,990, Rs 10,990 and Rs 13,990 respectively. In terms of specifications, the device features a 6-inch Full HD+ display and comes with a 18:9 display aspect ratio. It is powered by a 2.0 GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 SoC and runs on ColorOS 5.0, which is based on Android 8.1. The phone is backed by a 3410 mAh battery. In the camera department, the Realme 1 features a single 13MP primary camera and on the front is an 8MP sensor.
