OnePlus is auctioning OnePlus 2 Invites on eBay and the entire amount that's collected from the auction will be donated to the UNICEF Tap Project, which provides clean drinking water to children all over the world.
OnePlus is auctioning a total of 100 invites with 50 of them available of August 4, and the remaining 50 on August 5. At the time of writing, the highest bid for a single OnePlus invite was $631, and you can expect it go higher as the auction will progresses. If you are an Indian and you win an invite, you will receive it as an Amazon.in email invite on or after August 12. For other countries, the invite will be sent via eBay message on August 10. OnePlus said that they have started the auctioning of invites after noticing that many users were selling the invites on the Internet for high profits.
OnePlus 2 invite will be valid for 1 week from the day of receiving to claim, and the phone can be purchased within 30 days of claiming the invite and the auction will end on August 8. The one thing to remember here is that while anyone can bid for OnePlus 2 invites, the phone can be bought by only if you happen to live in one of the few countires listed by them. OnePlus has also promised a new improved invite scheme for OnePlus 2 to make it a much better experience as compared to the invite scheme it had with the OnePlus One.
OnePlus 2 is second device from the OnePlus which comes with 5.5-inch LTPS LCD display with multi-touch, Snapdragon 810 SoC, Adreno 430 GPU, 13MP/5MP rear and front cameras, 3GB RAM with the 16GB model, and 4GB RAM with the 64GB model, USB Type-C, and Oxygen OS. The phone will be available in India for approximately Rs. 25,000.
