The first leak of the upcoming Oneplus flagship smartphone surfaced online in the form of hands-on images. If the images posted by ITHome, via Slashleaks, are to be believed, the OnePlus 6 could feature some radical changes and come with an iPhone-X like notch on top of its display and an all glass rear panel. The notch might housing the front facing camera, earpiece and sensors and the smartphone is seen running on the latest OxygenOS 5.1 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo, which are currently not available for the OnePlus 5T.
A photo of the rear panel of the smartphone tips at a vertically stacked dual rear camera setup. There is also an LED flash right below the cameras along with a rectangular fingerprint sensor, similar to the one we have seen on the Samsung Galaxy S9 Smartphones. The device is seen running on 6GB RAM with 64GB internal storage, which is nothing out of the ordinary and is speculated to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC.
It should be noted that the company showcased its OnePlus 5 in June last year and keeping up with the tradition, it could launch its upcoming flagship smartphone around the same time this year. However, as this is an early leak, one should take the images with a pinch of salt as it could be an prototype, which might not even make it to production.
OnePlus CEO, Pete Lau has already confirmed that the company’s upcoming flagship will be launched by the second quarter of 2018. He confirmed that it will be equipped with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC as “there’s no other choice."
